We at IHCCS, Inc. believe in dealing with all individuals in a manner that ensures that dignity and respect are observed and preserved. Everyone is entitled to a certain standard of living and quality of life regardless of past history or circumstances. People should be able to live and function in the least restrictive environment permissible that ensures their safety and the safety of the community. All persons found to be eligible for services and who can benefit from any and all services shall be afforded the opportunity to receive those services that will contribute to them achieving and maintaining the most independent or otherwise appropriate/acceptable living arrangements.
Our agency has had letters of affiliation with Old Dominion University's Nursing Program, South University's School of Nursing and Eastern Virginia Medical School's Art Therapy Program. Through these affiliation agreements IHCCS provided Senior Nursing Students the opportunity to gain experience in a community mental health setting and provided the Art Therapy Students the opportunity to utilize art therapy techniques in a community mental health agency. These affiliations have enhanced the overall professional growth and development of the students who spent time at out agency.
